There
were 109 head shown at the National Sale/Show at Wooster
this weekend. The classes were big enough that they even split out the
yearling rams into 2 classes.
The
champion ram was a yearling owned by Mom's Tunis...Barbara Cassell and
the reserve was a fall ram lamb owned by RQL Farm....Sandra and David
Rock.
Barbara
Cassell won one of the yearling ewe classes also and that ewe went on to
be Grand Champion
ewe and Kelly Stumpe had the Reserve Champion Ewe.
The ewes sold very nicely with animals in all price ranges...even had 2
yearling ewes with lambs on them! There were some great bargains in the
rams.....
The
meal at the Amish Door on
Saturday night was a great time and again, a terrific meal. The
Ohio Tunis and friends provided a complimentary meal on
Friday night and Sunday
noon. And complimentary coffee and donuts were provided on
Sunday. Jacci Erwin's yearling ewe that was raffled off...was won
by a very nice family just starting out with Tunis.
The 3 free youth buyers credits were given out before the sale and
promptly used!
Make
plans now to come next year!
