Report and photos from Lisa Twomey:
Here are some pictures I took at the festival, which was September 10-12,
2010 in Jefferson, WI. James and I showed a yearling ewe and ram lamb as
examples of Tunis in the Hall of Breeds. Our little ram lamb, Hugo, has kind of
wooly legs, but he is so easy to transport we took him anyway and explained to
people that his legs should look clean like our ewe's. Visitors took all 60 of
the brochures we had.
Collin Novak took Champion Ram, Champion Ewe, and Reserve Ewe Tunis. (There
weren't any other Tunis competing, but they were very good looking
animals.)
Linda Derricksen from Hillspring Eco-Farm was a vendor and sold a lot of
Tunis wool and some pelts.
As far as I know, that was the Tunis presence at the festival. It would be
great to have more of us there next year September 9-11, 2011!
